Born Nantwich, Cheshire, 1939

Studied at Royal Collete of Music, London. with Herbert Howells (composition) and Antonio Brosa (violin), and at King's College, Cambridge.  Later, studied for MA in Classical Indian Music at York University.

Appointments: Music Producer for BBC radio (1965-8), University and College lecturships - full-time at Ledds University and at Tretton Hall College, West Yorkshire, and part-time at Universities of East Anglia, London (Goldsmiths' College), Lancaster and Huddersfield.

Freelance violinist/violist. Member of Pierrot Players, Fires of London.  Founder member of Academy of Ancient Music and of the Music Party. Member of London Early Music Group.  Many recordings with these ensembles in 1970s and 1980s, and more recently with the Parley of Instruments, the Georgian Concert, etc.
